Keke Palmer’s range is impressive – she’s a TV talk show host, actress, recording artist and writer. Her latest project is a satirical take on reality TV called Turnt Up with the Taylors, which premiered on Facebook Watch last year. The eight-episode series is co-created, co-written and co-produced by Palmer, who also stars as all five members of the family featured in the faux-reality show.
The story centers on the Taylors, who have starred in their own show called Taylor Time for a decade, but when teen daughter Chelsea “Barbie” Taylor (a character created by Palmer on Instagram) decides she wants to leave the program for solo fame, things get messy.
Using wigs, light prosthetics and a whole lot of heart, Palmer brings to life Barbie, Lil Thad, Miranda, Rick and Gammy Tay with aplomb. She recently won a Creative Arts Emmy for her role in the short-form series, and is hosting Singled Out on Quibi.
